Job Summary:

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Geography Teacher to teach secondary-level students under the CBSE and ICSE curricula. The ideal candidate should have strong subject knowledge, innovative teaching methods, and the ability to engage students in an interactive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver well-structured Geography lessons in alignment with the CBSE and ICSE syllabi.
  • Develop engaging lesson plans, assignments, and assessments to enhance conceptual understanding.
  • Use a variety of teaching methodologies, including maps, case studies, fieldwork, and technology-based tools.
  • Conduct and supervise practical learning activities such as projects, model-making, and research-based assignments.
  • Prepare students for board examinations, ensuring comprehensive syllabus coverage and exam-oriented guidance.
  • Foster critical thinking, analytical skills, and environmental awareness among students.
  • Monitor and assess students’ academic progress and provide necessary support and feedback.
  • Maintain student records, attendance, and performance reports as per school guidelines.
  • Organize educational field trips, geography exhibitions, and extracurricular activities to supplement learning.
  • Communicate with parents regarding students’ academic performance and progress.
  • Collaborate with fellow teachers, participate in departmental meetings, and contribute to curriculum planning.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Educational Qualification: B.Ed. and M.A./M.Sc. in Geography or a related field (mandatory).
  • Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of teaching experience in a CBSE/ICSE school.
  • Skills:
    • Strong command over CBSE and ICSE Geography curriculum.
    • Effective classroom management and student engagement techniques.
    • Ability to make Geography interactive through real-world examples, GIS tools, and case studies.
    • Proficiency in smart classroom technology and digital teaching tools.
    • Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in handling board exam preparations.
  • Familiarity with geographical information systems (GIS) and digital mapping tools.
  • Ability to integrate environmental studies and sustainability concepts in lessons.

Key Accountabilities/Activities:
 
  • To be effectively prepared for each lesson plan i.e. read plans, attend curriculum related workshops and seek clarification, if necessary.
  • Be aware of the objectives in the lesson plan and introduces accordingly.
  • Be logical and clear in presentation of the introduction of lesson plan.
  • Teach as per instructions given in the lesson plan and makes use of various teaching aids, resources, activities, assignments listed in the lesson plan.
  • Integrates information from other areas within and outside the lesson plan and gives relevant examples, metaphors and analogies, use of creativity, humor and imagination to establish connections with students previous learning.
  • Use of effective voice intonation to communicate and instructs using correct and appropriate language and grammar.
  • Maintain eye contact and moves around the class with ease and interacts with students.
  • Classroom arrangement should be appropriate to lesson plan goals. planning, preparing and delivering lessons to a range of classes including putting up displays in the classroom
  • Translate lesson plans into learning experiences so as to best utilize the available time.
