On February 1st, excitement reigned supreme, and vibrancy could be seen at the BMT Layout campus of Goldenbee Global School as the much-awaited Kidathon – Get-Set-Run was held. This inspiring program brought together young athletes from the city to experience the thrill of running, team spirit, and healthy competition in a safe and fun-filled atmosphere. The event once again reflected upon how the school is keen on promoting fitness and sportsmanship in children at an early age.
Pre-race days were action-packed days. The faculty and staff at Goldenbee Global School had their work cut out for them as they ensured all was in place for the day. The students received extensive training and coaching in basic running techniques to ensure they were adequately prepared for the race. Parents, too, came in handy by supporting their children and building enthusiasm and a sense of participation in the event.
Participants and their families arrived at the campus in high spirits on the event day. The school grounds were transformed into a vibrant running stadium with banners, flags, and colourful decorations adding to the festive atmosphere. The joy and excitement were absolute as children eagerly prepared to showcase their athletic abilities.
The Kidathon: Get-Set-Run event was carefully structured to ensure that participants of all age groups had an enjoyable experience. Children were divided into different categories based on age, with each group having a dedicated distance to run. From the tiny tots who participated in a short 100-meter dash to the older students who ran up to a kilometer, every child was allowed to challenge themselves and push their limits.
An active warm-up by the school’s physical education instructors helped launch the fun event. Young athletes followed this session with stretches and loosening up preparations for their running. Parents, teachers, and spectators shouted cheers from the sidelines to give the children as much support as possible, cheering them on into an electric feeling of camaraderie and community.
Though the event was competitive, it was evident that the underlying message of Kidathon was sportsmanship, teamwork, and personal growth, not necessarily winning. This is what the school philosophy ‘Run for Fun, Compete with Yourself’ sounded like during the event. Every child ensured that the most important thing was not to win over others but to give their best effort and have fun doing the sporting activity.
Goldenbee Global School was cautious to ensure no child was left out or disheartened. All participants, irrespective of their performance, were celebrated and recognized with medals and certificates. The sense of achievement on every child’s face was evident as they crossed the finish line, proudly holding their certificates and medals.
Running wasn’t the central theme of the event. The day was filled with numerous other activities to engage and entertain the participants and their families. Food stalls, games, and art corners were set all over the campus, offering activities for all to enjoy. They gave families time to relax and mingle while the kids did their thing, turning the Kidathon into a full-fledged family festival.
Kidathon—Get-Set-Run deeply impacted the students of Goldenbee Global School. The event brought tremendous self-confidence in children, as they learned that sports could simultaneously be hard work and enjoyment. Several children mentioned they had never felt so proud of their achievement and looked forward to participating in many more events.
Parents appreciated the school’s efforts to organize a positive event promoting physical health and development. It allowed them to see their children in action, support them as they ran, and celebrate their achievements.
It was a memorable and inspiring day for Kidathon at BMT Layout Campus of Goldenbee Global School on February 1st. The power of sports in formation, fitness, and achievement was well exhibited. With such initiatives, Goldenbee Global School is on the way to paving the way for the holistic development of its students with great values to be truly carried lifelong.
